So Why Did 100,000 Party Participants Come To Miami For Springfest Last Year?
For the past 4 years, the Springfest has been apart of the college spring break experience. The first two years, the spring break festival took place on the islands. Last year, the Springfest moved to Miami and was a huge success. Thousands of college students from all over the country will come together for a 3 day party full of concerts, activities, parties and more.
Well guess what? There just ain't no party like a Miami party. This year, the event is being held in downtown Miami. The hotels book up fast for this annual event. The actual Miami Springfest concert takes place on Bayfront Park in Miami. You can actually purchase tickets for around $25.00 from Ticketmaster
What Exactly Is The Miami SpringFest and Who Is Behind It?
The Springfest has been going on for the past 4 years now and has moved from the islands to the U.S. It's an event geared for graduating college students. Radio One (which is one of the largest radio conglomerates in the country) in the which includes dozens of todays hottest artist in one area along the beach.
What happens at the event?
The actual concert occurs in downtown Miami at the Bayfront amplitheater. You can go to the concerts during the day time and then at night take in all the action in the clubs. Most people come in on friday and shop, hit the beach, ride the scooters, eat and then hit the night spots afterwards. Most participants leave late sunday night or monday morning.

Is it better to fly or drive?
That is up to you. If you can afford it, book a plane and fly to Miami.
I am under 25 years old. Will they allow me to rent a car?
Most agencies have an age policy of 21 or 25 to drive. However, every agency is different. Some will allow you to drive at 18 if you pay all the extra fees and full coverage insurance.
There are alot of smaller car agencies besides the major ones (Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Etc.) who will allow you to rent cars at a younger age. You might have to check individual agencies to find out their policies.
Of course to be on the safe side, the cabs and shuttle busses will take you to your hotel for around $25.00-$45.00
What hotels should I stay in?
Any hotel along the Collins or Washington Streets from 200 to the 2000 block. Ocean Drive on South Beach is also a very high traffic target party center. Any of those three streets puts you in the middle of all the action
You can also stay in downtown Miami. There are plenty of taxis and cab who will take you to any of the concerts or parties.
Do I really need a car to get around?
Not really. Everything takes place on one or two streets. Unless you like to drive up and down the street, a car is not necessary. There are busses and taxi cabs who will take you to South Beach, to the concert and the hotels.

The Bayfront Park Amphitheater is located within Bayfront Park and has a capacity of 10,000 for general admission shows. There are fixed benches with seating for 2,672 and the lawn makes up the remaining 7,328. While watching a show in the amphitheater, patrons have Miami's skyline to their back and Biscayne Bay directly beyond the stage. The amphitheater is surrounded by an "amphi-walk," an elevated walkway that provides a sheltered area to protect guests from the hot sun or rain.
